An Untold Tale
A two-man team of dedicated former Full Sail Students decided to come together and create a game for the Global Game Jam 2020. It began with a single mechanic, blowing a battle horn to reconstruct a broken bridge. It evolved into a six nearly complete levels with four main mechanics.
Using pen and paper and google draw we created our levels. We further iterated our ideas to a common game design document we stored on google drive until we fleshed out the levels and created them using the Unity Engine. Our first level was a joint project that we both iterated upon, and each consecutive level was altternatively his personal responsibility and then mine, respectively. The result was a stunning show of work that made my partner and I proud to have been designers on the project.
Both my partner and I created our own C# scripts using visual studios. Using these scripts we made switches, levers, buttons, timed doors and traps. We used textures.com for the majority of the texture assets and we modeled the majority of the art assets using Umodeler we both purchased in the Unity Asset Store.
As a result of almost six months of continued dedication and development we had a game that we were both proud to have made and that was fun to play test. My partner and I though we have abandoned the project for now still both maintain a copy of the unity project and one day will complete this project we poured so much love into.
